Pack 85 - Den 1

Den 7 is a Bear Den. The scouts are in the third grade and are 8-9 years old. We meet about every other Monday from 6:15 - 7:30 at Greis Park. We presently have 9 really great boys. (10 if you include the den master, Mr. D.)!!

The boys have worked hard all year. They have completed all their bear requirements.

We constructed our birdhouses under the supervision of Jack's dad Steve. The meeting ran a

little longer than usual but nobody minded. The birdhouses looked great. They hammered every one of those nails into place! The boys also worked on decorating a planter and planted some seeds for Mothers Day. We then went for a bike ride at Hendrickson Park. The scouts learned about bike safety and practiced how to use a lock. Our next meeting we will be having our annual year-end celebration at the Crows Nest Mini Golf. The boys deserve a fun time for all their efforts.

Some of the scouts attended Webelos Woods at Schiff. They all had a great time. Isn't that what its all about?!

We are working on papier mache' masks at this time. The boys had lots of fun mixing up the flour and water, making a glue that was everywhere from head to toe. Good thing some of it made it to the masks. Next meeting we will be painting them.

Some upcoming projects and events will be building a birdhouse, a bike ride, mosaics, and learning some useful knots. All of these projects are part of the requirements and electives of the Bears.

The scouts have lots of fun at the den meetings. They learn respect, teamwork, and the importance of doing your best.
