April activities

Posted by mmattera on Mar 29 2025 - 10:01pm

We have a busy April ahead of us starting with a Pack meeting this Friday night, 7pm at the Our Lady of Peace gym. We look forward to seeing everyone there! Saturday, April 12th we have a hike planned at 9am at Hempstead Lake Park. This hike is lovely in the spring. We have another Pack meeting, Wednesday, April 23rd, 7pm at the Our Lady of Peach Parish House. We will continue to work on earning the Scouts' merit badges for the year. Then the weekend of April 25-27th is the Cuboree camping trip at Schiff. We always have a great time at this event. We do tent camping and participate in the fun activities that the council puts together. It would be fantastic if we can get all our Scouts to come. Please ask us any questions about the camping trip and we'll send out reminders about registration as it gets closer. Take care!

Scout Uniforms

Posted by mmattera on Feb 15 2025 - 8:14pm

If your Scout needs a uniform, you should visit the store in Massapequa at 544 Broadway, 11758-0574 or shop the website at https://www.scoutshop.org/shop-by-scout. We find it easiest to go out to the store as the employees are helpful and they have uniform shirts with the patches already attached. Just be sure to confirm the store hours before driving there. If you have any questions about the uniforms please reach out to us. The 5th graders that are moving up to Boy Scouts on February 26th should buy a tan shirt for Troop 336. Neckerchiefs aren't necessary to buy as these will be provided by the Pack. Our recommendation is to buy a larger size shirt than the kids currently wear so they can grow into it and you won't have to purchase again.

Spring calendar updated (Blue and Gold postponed)

Posted by mmattera on Feb 1 2025 - 11:08pm

The spring 2025 calendar is updated on the site, including a postponement of the Blue and Gold Pack meeting due to scheduling conflicts. Please review the calendar through June and sync with your calendar. A Blue and Gold placeholder is on the calendar for 2/26/25 but still waiting on confirmation. We will keep the group updated. We do have a Pack meeting at the Our Lady of Peace gym this Friday, February 7th at 7pm. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Pinewood Derby Rules

Official Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Rules

The following rules are included in every Pinewood Derby kit. They are not actually “official,” but many packs use them as the basis for their own race rules.
